      @anuronali1 Thanks!

    • smarmyclothes 5:42 am on January 24, 2012 Permalink

@xTheAnimalsx It won’t make the bag shorter if you’ve accounted for the gusset when drawing out the pattern. For example, if you want a bag that’s about 12″ x 10″ when it’s ‘open’, draw those dimensions first, and then add the gusset and seam allowances to the pattern.

    • anuronali1 5:48 am on January 24, 2012 Permalink

wow u r simply too good . thank you very much

    • xTheAnimalsx 5:50 am on January 24, 2012 Permalink

Do the gussets make the bag any shorter?
Or do they only make the bottom wider?

    • nattiebongono1 6:36 am on January 24, 2012 Permalink

safe for helping me wit my hw

    • smarmyclothes 6:48 am on January 24, 2012 Permalink

@jazzyblack01 Thank you! I’m using a quilter’s cotton (which is usually a majority of what you’ll find at most fabric stores), but you could also use something heavier like twill or canvas. Home dec fabric makes a nice sturdy bag. For bags, I’d stay away from anything stretchy or see thru… anything else is fair game. Not sure about hats, as I’ve never made one before!

    • jazzyblack01 7:16 am on January 24, 2012 Permalink

Great video. You are too cool. I keep watching it. I love your teaching style. Your machine is cool too. I will be getting back into sewing, my problem is I don’t understand textiles. I’ve been told to go with what I feel but my projects don’t turn out so great. Were you using cotton and what other materials can be used for making handbags and hats? Thanks for sharing your knowledge. By the way, i’m self taught.

@ckneasel I found the stamps at global sugar art 800-420-6088. they are Holly Products made in England and the pattern nivia used is in set 1- small floral pattern shapes. gumpaste high heel shoe tutorial

How to make a gumpaste high heel shoe

    • nivia91 9:18 am on December 23, 2011 Permalink

@ritaojo No, they are not the same. Gumpaste is sugarpaste with tylo powder and flower paste is something different.

    • ritaojo 9:32 am on December 23, 2011 Permalink

please, is gumpeast thesame as flowerpeast?

    • nivia91 9:58 am on December 23, 2011 Permalink

@MzTJones80 Thank you :) It is good to know that some people appreciate my work.

    • MzTJones80 10:41 am on December 23, 2011 Permalink

Very simple and easy to follow video! Thanks for making this so easy! I see most people on here who kinda take away from the instructions with too much talking. Just show me how it’s done and save the yapping! You rock! I’m subscribing to you!

    • nivia91 11:07 am on December 23, 2011 Permalink

@78persia I got it with the template. Any support will do otherwise try to find shoe templates on google.

    • 78persia 11:23 am on December 23, 2011 Permalink

Thank you for your response. By template I meant the blue support you are using to hold the sole and heel. You didnt buy that? where did you get it from then? thank you

    • nivia91 12:04 pm on December 23, 2011 Permalink

@78persia I didnt buy the template, I found it online.

    • 78persia 12:30 pm on December 23, 2011 Permalink

I went to smith website, but i cant find the template. is that where you bought that blue template you are using?

    • nivia91 12:31 pm on December 23, 2011 Permalink

@xXxNeonPrincessxXx You can use anything you want but it doesnt mean the end result would be the same. I would use fondant!

    • xXxNeonPrincessxXx 1:08 pm on December 23, 2011 Permalink

can i use it or not??

    • nivia91 1:32 pm on December 23, 2011 Permalink

@claudiatanaz The shoe wont hold its shape

    • claudiatanaz 1:46 pm on December 23, 2011 Permalink

can use fondant instead of gumpaste?

    • Lexmarry 2:46 pm on December 23, 2011 Permalink

I turned my nike into high heels because of this video <3 :) thankyou!!

    • nivia91 3:13 pm on December 23, 2011 Permalink

@cakescouture I have to say that this tutorial is made by me following th instruction I found on the template that was on cake central. I didnt follow any tutorial already created! I can give the credits to the person that has provided the template but not for the tutorial because it is my own.

    • cakescouture 4:13 pm on December 23, 2011 Permalink

Not sure if my post went through, it was awaiting approval. Just wanted to ask that yyou give credit to Nati for the original tutorial and template on Cake Central.

    • nivia91 4:22 pm on December 23, 2011 Permalink

@TheSufyaanKhan Thank you so much :)

    • nivia91 4:57 pm on December 23, 2011 Permalink

@golfergal You could use a pieace of card board shaped into a curve and add that as support instead. Tried to glue the parts of the shoe with edible glue instead of water and let the shoe dry after adding the heel, it will be easier for you to manage it.
Hope next time it turns out better.

    • nivia91 5:07 pm on December 23, 2011 Permalink

@givememoore22 Unfortunately you can’t, it wont hold its shape, you need to add tylo powder to your fondant.

    • givememoore22 6:06 pm on December 23, 2011 Permalink

can i use fondant icing to make this shoe?

    • TheSufyaanKhan 6:27 pm on December 23, 2011 Permalink

excellent tutorial, i found yours to be clear and most straight forward to understand. thank you for creating this video!

    • golfergal 6:30 pm on December 23, 2011 Permalink

I tried the shoe and found the template on line but the gumpaste cracked and I have to start over. Also, it was difficult to get the inside of the shoe poofed out..it tended to take the shape of the tissue paper and dried weird. It looked a bit like a witch shoe…I might use a shoe form in the toe…I had a cute design but it collapsed…so sad!

    • nivia91 7:02 pm on December 23, 2011 Permalink

@NIKL19 Oh that is a pity! I dont have it in my laptop either, sorry.

WOW THAT IS FREAKING BEAUTIFUL OMGGGGGGGGG

    • nivia91 10:02 am on December 21, 2011 Permalink

@EmmaFlower84 I use gumpaste. You still need to let it dry for minimum of 12 hours depending on temperature. I use edible glue and royal icing as glue as well.

    • EmmaFlower84 10:26 am on December 21, 2011 Permalink

wow that’s beautiful! you say to leave the bow bits and butterflies to dry for a couple of days… did you use a fondant or gum paste (I thought gum paste dried really hard quite quickly – man this is all very confusing :o )
also is that just an edible glue on the bow and butterflies?
      Thanks for the great video!!

    • thecakelover74 10:49 am on December 21, 2011 Permalink

I also agree,a request for you to show how you put the bow together, please. x
