@alexhaddon oh, so when your bike tire gets flat your gna put a bike lock on it and leave it on the street. makes sense.

    • alexhaddon 6:29 pm on January 21, 2012 Permalink

@izzyMACHANAO i can see where your coming from but where will you put your bike? thats what the bike locks for? oh well….dont matter lol

    • James32297 6:48 pm on January 21, 2012 Permalink

@izzyMACHANAO its easier to ride to spots on a bike i use this bag

    • izzyMACHANAO 7:13 pm on January 21, 2012 Permalink

@alexhaddon bleh, like i said. if your gna skate, then skate. dont drag a huge bike along with you. and if your tire gets flat, where will you put your bike when you skate? certainly you cant leave it on the street or carry it on your back. the bike part just seems really pointless to me. but hey, thats just me.

    • alexhaddon 7:38 pm on January 21, 2012 Permalink

@izzyMACHANAO So if your on a bike and the tire goes flat or something’s loose then you can just get it out…its for a skateboard and a bike. Thats the whole point of the bag

Art of Crochet by Teresa – Crochet Messenger Hobo Slouch Bag

Written Instructions – crochet-mania.blogspot.com Crochet Messenger Slouch Handbag Written by Teresa Richardson Materials Crochet Hook Size: L – 8MM 4 Ply Yarn Yarn Amount Estimate: 600 yards/548 meters Keep in mind that it is better to have to much yarn than not enough. 2 Strands of Yarn – I use 4-ply and 3-ply in the tutorial. You can use any combination. It will make the bag a little larger or smaller depending on your hook size and crochet tension. For A Deeper Bag – There is a decrease at round 28. • tjw1963 1:57 pm on January 17, 2012 Permalink

@donaskmey You can make a strap

    • donaskmey 2:50 pm on January 17, 2012 Permalink

other than crocheting a tube for the handle, can i just make a long strip instead? the tubed handle makes the bag look more chunkier that i’d like to make mine.

Can a double crochet stitch or even half work just as well? Thanks :)

    • milkshake011 3:25 pm on January 17, 2012 Permalink

Hi, what is the size of the bag?

    • tjw1963 3:38 pm on January 17, 2012 Permalink

@CheeseGaGa You will find a zipper close in size to the opening of the bag. You will hand stitch it in with a small sewing needle and sewing thread.

    • CheeseGaGa 4:32 pm on January 17, 2012 Permalink

hi teresa, i just finish my bag and i was wondering if adding a zip would be ok, erm, what size zip do i use? the bag is the perfect size for me, god bless (:

Hey Teresa! I’m really happy that I found your channel! I appreciate your work, you’re a good “teacher”! I’ve learned a lot from your videos, thank you veryveryvery much!

    • HurroPaula 6:27 pm on January 17, 2012 Permalink

Thank you so much for posting this:) I’m loving the patterns!

    • karryant 6:43 pm on January 17, 2012 Permalink

I know this sounds like a totally random question….but do youo crochet needles ever feel or get …sticky??? and of so what do you do or how do you prevent it? It is kind of wierd but it happens to me sometimes and the hook doesn’t glide over the yarn as nice.

    • tjw1963 7:36 pm on January 17, 2012 Permalink

@CheeseGaGa You can make the bag larger with increase stitches and increase rounds.

    • CheeseGaGa 8:19 pm on January 17, 2012 Permalink

@tjw1963 i just started and reached row 11, i was thinking of doubling the amt of rows, i don’t know if that would be ok…. but when i move to row 13, i will do 1 sc in 5 stitches then do 2 sc in the next one and i will continue this pattern till row 23, but after that, when i deepen the bag, do i do 2 decreases? and when do i do the decrease? btw, i love all your crochet projects (: looking forward to future videos (: god bless.

    • charly29ful 8:29 pm on January 17, 2012 Permalink

ok im confused. when you get to row 3 and row four? what do i do?

    • tjw1963 9:03 pm on January 17, 2012 Permalink

@CheeseGaGa If you are using a smaller crochet hook, the back will be much smaller. You would need to modify and work in additional increase rounds and stitches.

    • CheeseGaGa 9:13 pm on January 17, 2012 Permalink

hi teresa, im 12 and i love to crochet, just to check, i want to use recycled yarn, but i would need to use a 4.00mm crochet hook, approximate how big will it be?

    • irisitayerik 10:02 pm on January 17, 2012 Permalink

@laabellaz it’s just my problem too LOL

    • tjw1963 11:28 pm on January 17, 2012 Permalink

@Urvasi163 You could adapt this bag to plastic handles! I would suggest making some little tabs instead of the long handles. Fold the tabs over the plastic handles.

    • Urvasi163 12:04 am on January 18, 2012 Permalink

Loved this bag!! I have loads of plastic handles and would like to make crochet bags using them. Do you have any videos or patterns for them?

    Tenba Small Messenger Bag Review

My first serious camera bag, the Tenba small Messenger is a versatile bag which you can also use as an overnight case. For a light and neat carrying solution which includes space for a 15inch laptop, this is almost unbeatable. Please join me on http://www.picture-u.net and http://www.picturing-u.blogspot.com for more photographic fun.

    • Houston1863 11:58 am on January 13, 2012 Permalink

OK friend I tried fitting a 5D2 gripped into the Tenba with a few lenses. It’s a squeeze with a 100mm Macro and a 24-70 but it will accommodate a lens of that size with hood reversed. A 70-200 will have to be carried unmounted.

      Hope this helps

    • Houston1863 12:12 pm on January 13, 2012 Permalink

Thank you friend. I’m glad you enjoyed my ‘ Hollywood moment ‘ :)

I’m afraid the peeps are right. A gripped body with a lens placed as you say, simply would not fit. It hasn’t bothered me since I don’t carry my equipment that way. I don’t shoot out of a bag you see. That apart, the bag is very useful, durable and versatile. It’s also well-priced. One thing I forgot to mention in the video is that the base is made of a waterproof material.

    • GabooN 1:00 pm on January 13, 2012 Permalink

Thanks for the review. I have been thinking of this bag off and on for the past several months. It is nice to see a new video pop up that I haven’t seen over and over!

Do you ever configure it to have a lens mounted to the body? I have an Xti with grip, and have had people say that it does and does not fit bodies with grips in a ‘lens down’ configuration due to the width it creates near the top of the bag.

This one looks like the best choice for me.
Lots of space and a well planned layout.
Top bad the photoinsert can’t be split up in parts. Cargopockets are always great to quickly drop gear into that you don’t need at the moment.
